Tools to Manage Microaggressions

Microaggressions are defined as the everyday, subtle, intentional — and oftentimes unintentional — interactions or behaviors that communicate some sort of bias toward historically marginalized groups. We’ll discuss survival strategies, prevention steps, and how to spot concerning behaviors.

Program Objectives:

-Develop new strategies and tools

Shanda O’Dennis, Learning and Development Associate for AQORD, will lead this virtual session. With a strong focus in systems alignment, team building, change management, and professional development, Shanda has amassed extensive experience in various roles. Throughout her career, she has served as the Director of IDD Services at Holcomb Behavioral Health Systems, where she provided leadership and oversight to residential services and community-based support programs. Shanda holds an M.S. in Organizational Development & Leadership from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine (PCOM) and a B.A. in Psychology from Temple University.
